This month’s WorkTango Employee Spotlight is Kat V. Kat is the Marketing Programs Manager here and makes (work) lives better by ensuring we are educating and inspiring others to create a world-class employee experience. She has been with the company for just over four months and has already greatly impacted our organization.
1. Tell us an interesting fact about yourself.
I have classical art training, and attended a regional arts program in high school which meant I was surrounded by creativity during my entire high school career. I transfer that creativity into my marketing career now!
2. What piece of advice would you give to your younger self?
I would tell myself to love myself more. Coming to Canada at an early age, I was shy and always wanted to fit in. I didn’t take the time to really acknowledge and celebrate the things that make me unique.
3. What made you choose to join the WorkTango team?
I had previous experience in the HR technology industry and I loved working in the HR tech world. When I saw WorkTango had an open position, I was excited to join a company that has a clear mission to make people’s lives better at work.
4. What are you currently enjoying most about your role here at WorkTango?
What I’m enjoying the most is my colleagues. I love how collaborative the team is, it is very clear that we are all working towards the same goal. Although we are remote, there are plenty of opportunities to connect. Most importantly, there is plenty that we can learn from each other.
5. What’s your favorite productivity hack?
I still use pen and paper to create to-do lists! I am a visual person, so I prefer seeing my lists and crossing things off as I go. I also use a whiteboard where I set goals and to-do lists for the week.
6. What is one thing you can’t live without?
My journal and pen. I love to take time to write my thoughts and practice gratitude at the end of the day. It relaxes me and sets me up for the next day.
7. Who is the most influential person/people for you and why?
My family. I look up to my parents who came to Canada with nothing and were able to build a life for themselves in a brand new country. It taught me the importance of having a clear vision for my life and working towards it, step by step every day. Also, my son, who is teaching me something new about myself every day.
