This month’s WorkTango Employee Spotlight is Amber A. Amber is an amazing QA Analyst here, and makes (work) lives better by ensuring our product is as strong as it can possibly be. She has been with the company for two years.
1. In one sentence (if you can), describe what it’s like to work at WorkTango.
At WorkTango, every day is an exciting adventure filled with meaningful work, supportive colleagues, and the opportunity to make a positive impact on the employee experience of our customers.
2. What is an interesting fact about yourself?
I was raised on a farm, and showed cattle my entire childhood! That is where my deep love for animals blossomed. 🙂
3. What piece of advice would you give to your younger self?
SLOW DOWN! Growing up, I would always look forward to being older and my next big experience. Now, I see the importance of being present in the moment and allowing myself to experience the beauty of the present. Life goes by fast, so enjoying every moment is important.
4. What made you choose to join the WorkTango team?
I joined WorkTango in 2021. It was my first role in SaaS. I came from an HR background, and was looking for a company that would allow me to continue growing and developing in the tech environment. I wanted an inclusive and vibrant culture that encouraged personal growth and teamwork. Throughout the interview process, I gained an understanding of the culture here and knew it was the right fit for what I was looking for. The cherry on top was the fantastic benefits WorkTango offers its team members. Work/life harmony is very important to me, and having unlimited PTO made working here an immediate yes. 🙂
5. What’s your favorite productivity hack?
Brain dump! Every morning I write down every task or item I have floating around in my brain on a piece of paper. From there, I can prioritize based on deadlines, impact, etc. I then block my calendar out with each task I plan to accomplish that day, to ensure nothing gets lost in the shuffle of my brain.
Post-It notes are also totally my jam.
6. What is one thing you can’t live without?
My family + my dog! I married my highschool sweetheart and we have the cutest Corgi, Phoebe, whose personality perfectly matches Phoebe from the TV show “Friends”. 10/10.
7. Who is the most influential person/people for you and why?
My dad! I grew up in a non-traditional way and it is because of his unwavering support and guidance that I have been able to overcome a lot of the challenges that I was dealt. My dad also has MS, and although he has also been dealt a large amount of challenges in his life, it has never changed his spirit and determination to succeed in life. I carry that attitude with me through every moment of growth in my own life.
At WorkTango, we believe that by putting our people first, ensuring their voices are heard, and making sure every team member feels appreciated for their work, they will continue to drive us forward as an organization.
