Navigating Turbulence: How HR Leaders Can Help Businesses Get Through This Tough Economic Climate

COVID-19 is impacting every aspect of our lives including how our employees feel, what we can expect of them during this period and what they need from their leaders to feel engaged and supported. HR professionals have a very important role to play in helping their business leaders understand the needs of their teams during this period which is why we have decided to bring a panel of experts together for our next webcast to provide their experiences and advice on how HR professionals can support their employees and business leaders in this particularly challenging environment.

We’re going to address multiple stages within the journey; from the organizational response, dealing with the remote work environment, addressing employees’ psychological health & Safety, and return to work considerations. The panel will include an HR leader, a Chief Growth Officer and a Psychological Wellness expert so that we can get a 360 degree perspective on what our employees are feeling and how best to support them during this period.

Over the last 4 years, Asad has built Sales Talent Agency’s fastest-growing division focused exclusively on executive, leadership and senior sales and marketing placements; and in 2017 and 2018 they placed the most sales and marketing leaders in Canada. In 2018, Asad launched a new division specializing in an underserved and fast-growing part of the sales community: technical sales and solution engineers. Since joining STA, Asad has worked closely with C-level executives at fast-growth technology companies to help them develop and define their sales hiring practices. Currently, Asad is the Managing Partner at Sales Talent Agency and leads their Executive Search, Technical Sales and Professional Services divisions. He was also chosen by the Toronto Board of Trade as Toronto’s Young Professional of the Year for 2019.

Beth Corcoran is the Founder and Managing Director at Ascenditur Incorporated, a business consulting and coaching organization based out of Toronto, Canada. Beth has worked with thousands of employees and organizations over the last 15 years as an advisor, coach, HR leader, professor and clinician.

As a business consultant and advisor, Beth works with CEOs, primarily in private organizations, helping leaders solve challenges in the area of leadership, strategy, organizational development and human resources. As an executive coach, Beth works with the C-suite, VP’s and Directors, facilitating growth, development and insight for leaders both one-on-one and in group coaching settings. He has dedicated his corporate career to doing this through several executive HR roles across multiple sectors. Mark worked in the UK and Canada for leading organizations including RSA, Centrica and Sky, as they went through their own major transformations and built HR strategies and HR teams that delivered sustainable value.

Rob Catalano

Rob is the Chief Engagement Officer at WorkTango, and has spent the last 17 years consulting companies on employee engagement while building HR technology and advisory companies. He is the Canadian Chairperson for The Enterprise Engagement Alliance,  with a mandate to lead and help educate corporate, government and not-for-profit management on a formal process for implementing engagement across the enterprise community.  He is active in the Engage for Success movement, focused on raising the profile of the impact of employee engagement on employee and business success, and he was named one of the 100 Top Global Employee Engagement Influencers in 2019.
