Mahesh Subramony Ph.D.

Professor of management and the director of the Center for Human Capital and Leadership at Northern Illinois University

Mahesh Subramony (Ph.D. in Industrial-Organizational Psychology, Central Michigan University) is a professor of management and the director of the Center for Human Capital and Leadership at Northern Illinois University. His research is shaped by practical problems faced by organizations such as talent retention, D&I implementation, and the performance/well-being of frontline service workers. Mahesh has provided analytics consulting to several organizations including the Follett Higher Education Group, Manpower Corporation, and the Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM); participated as a board member of the Service Council, and affiliate faculty at Arizona State University’s Center for Services Leadership; and routinely conduct practitioner-oriented workshops on various talent- and service-related topics. His research has been published in reputed academic publications including the Academy of Management Journal, Academy of Management Perspectives, Journal of Applied Psychology, and Human Resource Management. He is an associate editor for the Journal of Service Management, and the Journal of Business Research.

He is the Canadian Chairperson for The Enterprise Engagement Alliance, with a mandate to lead and help educate corporate, government and not-for-profit management on a formal process for implementing engagement across the enterprise community.
